Nights Away

Rotherfield District have a team of Nights Away Advisors who are here to support permit applications,  and review and process any Nights Away Notifications received.

Nights Away Notifications
For every event you are planning that includes an overnight stay, you are required to submit a Nights Away Notification, and Risk Assessment. Below you will find links to complete the application (Online Form is preferred), and download the RA template. There is also a link to guidance on how to complete your RA. Please ensure you submit your NAN at least 2 weeks before the event.

Nights Away Permit Holders
A night away doesn’t have to be spent in a tent. You could sleep in your meeting place or even in a local museum. Indoor nights away need volunteers to hold the lowest level of Nights Away Permit because they’re more straightforward to run. This means they can be a good choice for your first nights away from home.

There are 4 types of permit available:

  • Indoor
  • Campsite
  • Greenfield
  • Lightweight Expedition

For more information please visit the Nights Away Permit Scheme or email our team of NAA at nan@rotherfieldscouts.co.uk

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
